Ceramic is made from various natural materials, such as clay, quartz and kaolin which are sintered at high temperatures to produce highly compacted, homogenous surfaces. High resistance to scratching with a material hardness of Mohs 8 (diamond has Mohs 10 rating), resistance to water, dirt and UV light.
