Ceramic is a result of a combination of natural products, such as kaolin, quartz and clay which are accumulated at high temperatures to generate highly compressed, consistent surfaces. They also have high resilience to scratching and boast a material hardness of Mohs 8 (diamond has Mohs 10 rating), resistance to water, dirt and UV light.
